Per Scholas, a not-for-profit organization and its partners South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corp. (SoBRO) / Robin Hood Foundation challenged TPD Architecture with the task of creating a flexible, creative, state of the art training facility to foster their adult training program. Per Scholas established an ambitious, highly diversified and sustainable program which TPDA embraced. Challenging interior conditions, such as lack of natural light, low beams, and interior acute angles, required TPDA to re-think typical educational models and utilize diverse methods of design to create inviting, motivational, flexible, and functional spaces.
