THE CLEBURNE HISTORIC LOBBY
LOCATION: NEW YORK, NY
SIZE: 5,000 SF
Built in 1913 on the site of the former Straus Mansion (Mr. and Mrs. Straus died on the Titanic), the building spans an entire city block with lobby entrances on both 102nd Street and West End Avenue. With an emphasis on maintaining the building’s original Arts and Crafts style, the original marble wall and metal finishes were restored with new subtle details that enhance the original architecture. A new concierge desk was designed, new ceiling lighting installed and many of the existing fixtures were repaired and re-used.
