Exterior work included structural modifications/ refurbishments to the front porch; masonry restoration; foundation waterproofing; roofing, flashing, gutters and chimney reconstruction; stone patio/walkway resetting; new areaways below the front porch and re-pitching of the surrounding landscape.
Selective interior alterations redefined existing spaces. A new eat-in kitchen, enlargement of the Blue & White Room and a 2nd floor shared bath were created to better accommodate the residents. Primary public rooms, private living areas and baths received new plumbing, lighting, surface finishes and millwork. Building mechanical upgrades included conversion of steam to gas heating, a newly integrated air conditioning system, period style baseboard heating, programmable thermostats, electrical upgrades and a new fire alarm system. The work also included the mitigation of existing lead paint, mold and asbestos containing materials.
